Day 107 - Market

So, it seems Chad and I have the worst luck when it comes to roommates. They never seen to be well suited to us and always snore. Loudly.
It's all part of the adventure.

Breakfast was average and didn't offer anything new, but it was €3.5 and that works for me.

As most do, this hostel provides a free city map that shows routes to follow and highlights points of interests, good restaurants, museums, etc.. We chose to set out on a self-guided walking "tour" based off the map because it offers a direction to start. From there you can always choose to stray way when something catches your fancy.

It didn't take long to realize that we weren't where we thought, and for the life of me I couldn't figure out where we were. So, obviously being the adult that I am I did the mature thing and threw the map on the ground and stomped on it.
It felt good.
And NO, of course I didn't leave it there. That would be littering.

Having laughed off my tantrum we picked a direction and started walking. As always this worked out well and we saw plenty. A fortress, an amazing view of the city, a bit of nature and eventually the Christmas market!

As expected the market was wonderful. Full of delicious smelling food. Sausage, mulled wine and sweets. Plenty of ornaments and decorations, toys, fur goods, clothing, lace. The list goes on. People get bundled up and walk around for ages, shopping and sampling food. Some even stumbling around.
Who new mulled wine was so strong?!

Sausage, wine, pancakes, pretzel, hot chocolate and sweets, lot of shopping around, making sure to stop at every booth. We had a very good time. By the time we left it was getting dark so we shopped and looked around other areas on the way back to the hostel, but planned to hit the market again later for dinner. And we did. More sausage and cherry and apricot punsch.

We decided to extend our stay an extra day as well. We should be leaving here sometime on Friday and then going to Germany.

Until tomorrow,
xoxo
